My name is Alison
Hudson and I am both Principal
and Founder of A1 Dance Studio.
I grew up in South Africa where I started
dancing when I was 8 years old. I was trained
in the Cecchetti Method of classical ballet.
I attended the Johannesburg school of Performing
Arts, studying all forms of dance for my
High School education. I also assisted teaching
with my own teacher in South Africa.
When I left High School I also trained
and worked as a radiographer and continued
to work part time helping out at my teacher's
dance studio. I married in 1986 and moved
to England in 1989 where I spent close to
4 years bringing up my children. I attended
adult dancing classes in the evenings.
In 1993 I moved to Australia with my family.
after having my third daughter I decided
to start my own dancing studio and 1999
the A1 Dance Studio became a reality. I
now have two of my daughters training to
be teachers at the Dance Studio.
In this day and age where so much emphasis
is placed on winning rather than participating
I am rather proud that my original idea
of a studio where having fun, NO competitiveness
and ANY student is welcome, has remained
constant throughout and I guarantee that
this will continue to do so in the coming
years!

A1 Dance Studio also proudly
sponsors Bahirdar Gaje, an Ethiopian girl
through World Vision. Bahirdar lives in a
rural area with her parents. Her father is
a peasant farmer and is dependent on seasonal
rain for a livelihood. Her mother is at home
caring for her family. |
